This hotel might have been a luxury destination before the 2000s, but the facilities haven’t improved much since then. The standard room we stayed in, with its basic amenities, was quite small, including the washroom. While many areas of the hotel look old and in need of repair, the place is kept clean. The restaurant offers a standard buffet or set meals, but the food is quite ordinary and lacks anything noteworthy. On the positive side, the staff provides good service, and the view of Girithale Lake is stunning and perhaps the highlight of the stay. Unfortunately, considering the outdated facilities, average food, and the price charged, it doesn’t feel like good value for money.

We had an amazing stay during our vacation. The staff was efficient and friendly, should give a special shout out to Mr. Jayathilake and Mr. Manjula who were very helpful and always looked into our requirements throughout our stay. Thanks for the wonderful experience.

This is a great value, beautifully located, 3-star hotel with plenty of charm. The facilities are comfortable (rooms are spacious, views are superb, lots of choice on the menu, pool is nicely located) and the staff are exceptional. The front house staff at the reception are extremely helpful and friendly, all waiters are attentive. The breakfast buffet was diverse, we had many hoppers and some savoury curries. We liked the pieceful and serene location and animal viewing from the Terrace. Great location to explore the national parks and archaeological ruins nearby. Thank you to all the attentive staff!

Hotel is situated near the Giritale lake with a small pool & the room does not have a good view of the lake even it was a Deluxe room. Room A/C was too old and making a loud noise disturbing the peacefulness, no floor mat at least near the bathroom door and there were no toothbrushes neither toothpaste & they are asking for extra payment to supply them. Basic Buffet is there & no variation. Waiters failed to fill the water glass even until I finished my meal, in all 3 meals they served water only after I asked from them. Even when I requested for a kid’s meal for my kid who is 17 months old I had to ask it from 2,3 waiters in the restaurant, after about 30mins I got some boiled pasta with few cheese pieces on it for the cheese pasta I requested. I was with a group & we were totally disappointed about the service. We complained to GM as well who was there but after the discussion with him we felt as it was like a normal thing for him. Hotel not Recommended!! 👎

Tolles Hotel mit schönen, sauberen Zimmern. Super idyllisch auf einem Hügel inmitten eines großen Parkes gelegen. Der Service ist super freundlich und aufmerksam, die Terrasse bietet super schöne Ausblicke, tolle Bar. Das Frühstück ist toll.

WE LOVE THIS HOTEL FOR THE HOMELY ATMOSPHERE AND THE GREAT VIEW IT PROVIDES. IT IS SO PEACEFUL TO SIT ON THE OUTER DECK AND ENJOY THE VIEW. THE STAFF INCLUDING THE RESTAURANT STAFF WERE COURTEOUS AND ATTENDED PROMPTLY TO OUR SPECIAL NEEDS. ROOMS ARE COMFORTABLY FURNISHED. RECOMMENDED FOR A PEACEFUL HOLIDAY STOPOVER.

A reasonable buffet. We didn't try the a la carte options (if there were any). The room was okay but a slightly strange shape and the shower was weak. Great views across a lake though and particularly good for early morning monkeys on the balcony.

Beautiful hotel with stunning views over the lake. Very nice room with large balcony. Very good shower. Nice covered bar (terrace) overlooking the lake. Restaurant was good. Buffet with a nice choice of warm dishes; friendly staff and warm welcome.
